The Poem Depot

The Miami Poetry Collective was founded by Campbell McGrath at a plastic table in front of Zeke’s Roadhouse Bar in November 2008. The group’s members range from national prize winners to emerging writers who have never been published to visual artists with a passion for language. The goal of the collective is to grow the practice of literature in Miami.

Poetry Workshop: "Imitation is the Sincerest Form of Sincerity"

In this poetry workshop, we’ll read and write imitatations of poems we admire, in addition to sharing our drafts and giving brief presentations.

Please join P. Scott Cunningham for this eight session workshop at Miami-Dade College, sponsored by the Florida Center for the Literary Arts. Tuesdays from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. from February 2 to March 23, 2010. To register, click here.

P. Scott Cunningham is the director of the University of Wynwood, an advocacy organization for the spoken and written word in Miami. His poetry has been published in The Harvard Review, McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, Pool, Court Green, Cider Press Review, Roanoke Review, the Northville Review and Tigertail: A South Florida Poetry Annual. A nominee for a 2009 United States Artist Grant, he also serves as president of the Miami Poetry Collective and editor of the Cent Journal Series.
