Public hearing called by FDOT to get input on the transfer of Brickell Avenue control from the State to the City of Miami.
This is a public hearing called by FDOT to get input on the transfer of Brickell Avenue control from the State to the City of Miami. Transfer of the control of Brickell Avenue from the State’s Florida Department of Transportation to local authorities has been desired and sought by the Brickell Community and was approved last summer, however, the State is calling for “public input” to ensure this is the most desired move.
As a community, Brickell residents have asked for a number of changes to make Brickell safer, which the State, viewing Brickell Avenue as Highway, has refused to implement (lower speed limit, more signalization, etc.). The City of Miami has backed this swap and has pledged to help make Brickell safer for the many who live, work and play in the area. All are asked to attend this important hearing to make residents’ desires known.
