Societa’ Dante Alighieri and the Miami-Dade Public Library System present Il Veneto di Hemingway in conjunction with the Library’s 14th Annual International Art of Storytelling: Italy. Curated by Gianni Moriani and Rosella Marnoli Zorzi, this exhibition consists of black and white photographs that recreate the Veneto through Ernest Hemingway’s experience during his stays in Italy from 1948 to 1954. Nobel Prize winning author, Ernest Hemingway (1899 – 1961) arrived in Italy as a young man, volunteering for the American Red Cross during World War I. Fascinated by the region, lifestyle and culture, Hemingway returned many times to Italy where his experiences there provided the creative source for several of his short stories and novels, including A Farewell to Arms. >More
