Bayfront Park to Celebrate 1000th Free Yoga Class

Total Attendance Has Surpassed 78,000
Miami, FL – On Monday, July 16, 2012, the 1000th free yoga class will be held at Bayfront Park. The popularity of these classes continues to grow and total attendance has surpassed 78,000. Free, weekly yoga classes started at Bayfront Park on Monday, September 12, 2005. Eight people attended the first class. The class was held every Monday and by May of 2006, the classes had become so popular they were expanded to three times a week (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays).
Currently, average attendance is exceeding 100+ per class. The setting is ideal. Held outdoors by Biscayne Bay, the classes offer a unique atmosphere to relax and invigorate at the same time. In addition, participants can enjoy the stunning view. Classes are free and open to the public. The classes take place rain or shine and on holidays. In the event of rain, the classes are held inside the Bayfront Park Management Trust office. Saturday classes are sponsored by TeamFootWorks & Mercedes-Benz Corporate Run. Past sponsors have included smartwater and ZICO Beverages. The classes have been featured by NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, Fox Sports Network, CNN, Delta Sky Magazine, and Vues d’Ailleurs (in flight magazine for French airline Corsairfly).
