About Me
-People
know me as the Downtown Hipster born and raised in the "305" and so
proud to still live here. Not only do I work hard in the DowntownMiami.com-Downtown Miami
Resident and Visitor's Center but I also play hard as a Downtowner from
Brickell to the Design District. I am nineteen years old studying
Hospitality and Tourism Management at Florida International University
concentrating Tourism Marketing Communications. Although I am getting a
degree like every other college student... my passion lies in music and
performing. Ever since I was 10 I have sung in venues ranging from
Carnegie Hall to Van Dyke Cafe to our downtown Cava's Wine and Bar
located in Mary Brickell Village.
Downtowner Profile
-Favorite Restaurant
-ZUMA:
located at the Epic Hotel this cache, modern restaurant caters to a
contemporary Japanese cuisine where the rolls are unlike any other in
Miami. Hey, maybe even the world! This traditional Japanese food is
infused with a twist of Miami where the scenery takes your breath away
and the people around you are never the same. You must try the "Kinoko
No Kama Meshi" signature dish and share it with the table; mushroom and
vegetable rice that will make you wanting more. Sophisticated cuisine
with a vibrant environment-that sounds like my kind of Friday night
dinner.
Favorite Live Music Spot
-Brickell
Irish Pub: Listen, I'm a singer
and you have to trust me on this one. My curiousty (and my ears) started
hearing Top 40s with a jazzy flare so I was enticed to enter and what a
great night I had! You will not regret Saturday nights at Brickell
Irish Pub. Bring your girlfriends and listen to quality music where at
one point of the night, after a couple of beers, you will be jamming out
to Miami's hottest live music scene.
-Favorite Nightlife
-Segafredo
in Brickell: I've been to the nightclubs and the bars on South Beach but let me tell you LIV, you've got to
beat "Sega's" now. Not only do they have the best Strawberry Mojitos but
you will dance like there is no tomorrow. The DJ's that play every
night at Sega's has this corner lounge bumpin' every night. Although a
lounge Sega's has an adjoining nightclub Spazio Nero where Italia meets
Miami. Don't waste your gas money to drag yourself to South Beach,
explore one of the best nightclubs in your own backyard.
-Favorite View
-JW
Marriot Marquis Miami: Before singing at a formal event for FIU
downstairs in the ballroom, I started getting ready upstairs and just as
I was applying my makeup I look towards the window to the sunsetting
and it took my breath away. I felt so lucky to be at the right place at
the right time to witness that view. A few minutes later the coordinator
of the event comes in and says "You're on in 10 minutes". I look back
out and the darkness was a blanket to the beautiful, illuminating lights
of Downtown Miami.
-Places to shop
-Mary
Brickell Village: While working here, I get out of work everyday and I
have to cover my eyes while walking to my car because of all the cutest
clothes and funkiest outfits. Miami is known for its originality and
these boutiques claim just that. Peace Love World, Blush, and Studio LX
just to name a few has the best fashion in Downtown Miami. Girls, bring
your credit cards because you are going to need them. Pass by the
Downtown Miami Resident and Visitor's Center and I'll point you to my
favorite shops. Grab your Starbucks and SHOP til you drop!

Metromover: Want the Manhattan experience? Downtown Miami has just that. Even if you aren't being taken
anywhere the Miami Metromover lets you see Downtown Miami in a whole
different prespective. When Ultra Music Festival rolls around ride the
MetroMover just for kicks: feel the vibration of the beats and watch as
teenagers and young adults dressed in neon come in and out excited to go
see their favorite DJs. FREE
-Miscellaneous
-Speaking
of Ultra Music Fesitval, this 150,000 person concert will blow your
socks off. Downtown Miami is lucky enough to be the home of the biggest
Dance Music Festival in the entire world. Think big! Think Ultra! March
23, 24, 25 that's where I'll be celebrating my birthday.
-Single Ladies: Later on
in the year I will be writing up more about where you ladies should go
and mingle the finest men of Downtown Miami. For now visit Blue Martini
located at the upstairs of Mary Brickell Village to have the famous (or
should I say infamous) blue martini, dance to the best music, and meet
the gentlemen of Brickell through the Design District. Take the girls!
