Most people are aware of how much the food you eat affects your overall health. It seems as though the idea that what you eat affects the way a person thinks and feels is growing thanks to the increasing amount of research that is backing the premise up. Fast Food Could Be Contributing to ADHD

A study was conducted on adolescents and kids that showed soft drinks, sugar, and fast food actually led to a higher prevalence of ADHD diagnoses. The study took a look at kids who weren't following the Mediterranean style of diet, which is high in fruit, vegetables, and fatty fish.

Food Has an Impact on Short and Long-Term Mental Health

It seems as though food is able to have an impact not just on short-term mental health, but also long-term. It runs deeper than depression and ADHD, it can also affect a person's odds of severity of schizophrenia and Alzheimer’s disease. It seems as though the deeper researchers dig into this link between food and mental the health, the more facts they uncover.

Statistics in the U.K. show that for the people that don't report eating fresh fruit or fresh fruit juice each day, two thirds of them report mental health problems. The research is intriguing to say the least.

While doctors and researchers are still working hard to further prove the link between food and mental health, it certainly wouldn’t hurt to start making those conscious decisions to eat healthier.
