A Message from Mayor Tomas Regalado

As we approach Mother’s Day this coming Sunday, I wanted to take the time and recognize the many important mothers in our great city. Did you know the Miami is the only major city in the United States founded by a woman? Julia Tuttle was an woman entrepreneur with great determination and vision, and in the late 1800’s she purchased the 640 acres where we now have the City of Miami. She then convinced Henry Flagler to extend the railroad all the way to Miami, which paved the way for the voting that incorporated Miami only a few months later in 1896. So to our Mother of Miami, and the great women of this city, I sincerely wish you a Happy Mother’s Day!

Sincerely, Tomas Regalado.

The Miami Tower
Downtown Miami Landmark's New Name

For 22 years Downtown Miami's  signature 600,000 sq.ft. tower has been illuminating the Magic City. Formerly known as The Bank of America Tower and  with the naming rights becoming available this past January 1st, the ownership has announced a new name for this iconic building, "The Miami Tower". The opportunity for naming rights is available, in the meantime The Miami Tower seems like a very fitting way to identify the most recognizable building in Miami.
