Districts

Downtown Miami is divided into four distinct Districts:

The northern most area is the Media and Entertainment District. To the south is Park West, the Central Business District and south of the Miami River, Brickell, divided into Upper Brickell and Lower Brickell. The CBD is separated from Brickell by the Miami River, NW 7th St marks the line between Park West and the CBD, the I-395 separates Park West and the Media and Entertainment District, and Broadway splits Upper and Lower Brickell apart.

  • Brickell
Elegant residential condominiums share the skyline with sleek office towers in the Brickell district, named for a family of early settlers. Home to scores of global financial institutions and global corporations, those who live, work, or are lucky enough to do both in Brickell enjoy sweeping views of Biscayne Bay, yet feel anchored to the charming neighborhood that surrounds them.

  • Central Business District (CBD)
With its mix of historic and new architecture, Miami’s central business core is an authentic downtown experience that hums to the beat of residents, business professionals, and tourists alike. The Central Business District is a place where something is always happening, and where commerce, leisure, and educational opportunities are as diverse as Miami itself.

  • Media and Entertainment District
Urban living and the arts go hand-in-hand in this notable district. The acclaimed Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts is attracting growing numbers of residents, restaurants, and retailers to the surrounding neighborhoods.

  • Park West
Park West’s urban-industrial roots give a sense of distinctiveness to the residential boom that is transforming this vibrant area. To satisfy commute-weary residents and those opting for the urban lifestyle, real estate developers are constructing dramatic high rises that offer uncompromised views of Biscayne Bay and Miami Beach.
