 JAM @ MAM: As 2010 gets underway, Miami Art Museum is planning to relaunch JAM @ MAM in a new format to offer an even more meaningful experience to South Florida residents and JAM at MAM's loyal following. On the second Friday of each month, a secret room in the Children’s Room at the Main Library becomes The Reading Room. In this cozy space, visitors can get up close and personal with selections from the Library’s collection of artists’ books, publications and multiples. Experience these objects without having to look at them through a display case, engage in conversation over coffee and cookies, and see living-room style screenings of video and new media art.

 FREE. On the First Saturday of every month, the Parker and Vann Thomson Plaza at the Adrienne Arsht Center becomes Miami’s most exciting interactive arts playground! Hands-on, free, fun learning activities for children include crafts, face-painting, storytelling, movement and theater classes, as well as outdoor performances. Make a puppet, learn a song, or try out a few new dance moves, it’s the best way to spend the day!
