Miami, FL – February 11, 2021 – The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County (@arshtcenter) is pleased to announce a new lineup of in-person and online events and performances which will be presented as part of the Center’s Interlude. The performances include the return of the Arsht Center’s Free Family Fest series, a fresh lineup of local artists performing as part of the Center’s Live on the Plaza and Jazz Roots on the Plaza concert series, an online hip-hop orchestra performance and art workshops for kids, as well as ongoing Arsht on the Road pop-up performances throughout Miami-Dade County.
In-person events at the Arsht Center will be socially distanced and conducted according to CDC and local health guidelines. Guests can expect touchless digital ticketing, wellness screenings and temperature checks prior to entry, face coverings (over the mouth and nose) required for all attendees, and light bites and beverages for purchase, delivered directly to your seat (select performances only).

Kaylan Arnold is a 21-year-old, South Floridian-raised Belizean and Haitian singer-songwriter, producer and instrumentalist. She blends her influences of reggae, jazz and hip-hop to produce music that sounds just as impactful as its lyrics. Tackling issues from self-worth to greed, endangered love, gratitude and corruption, Kaylan's music is a vehicle to implement the revolution which she wishes to see.
Kaylan has shared the stage with artists like Jhene Aiko, DaniLeigh, Tyga, MADEINTYO, Hirie, Morgan Heritage and more. She has also played festivals such as SXSW & Cali Roots Festival. Her first single, "The Crown," reached #60 on the Top 200 Reggae iTunes chart in 2018. Kaylan's debut album, Hydrate, is out now on all streaming platforms. Pour Your Art Out: Abstract Watercolor Landscapes

Using watercolors and materials found at home, children create their own abstract compositions. This process-driven workshop encourages thinking ‘outside the box’ and alternative painting techniques to create spectacular color effects! Learn about color theory, principles of art and design while using a paintbrush, salt and even a water spray bottle to create your work of art!

Join us in celebrating the release of Jaialai’s new EP, As Sweet As I Was. Since 2016, Jaialai has performed some of Miami’s most memorable shows with its psychedelic blend of krautrock, shoegaze and garage rock. There’s a sense of urgency in Jaialai’s music, a modern take on shoegaze and psychedelia but also the first-generation immigrant experience. Themes of freedom, intensity, anxiety and pressure are evident in their music. Their musical influences can be attributed to bands like The Rolling Stones, Radiohead, Deerhunter and Can.

Add to that, a party-rocking DJ, a soul-stirring female vocalist and a fire-breathing MC and that is still but a fraction of what you'll catch when you catch Thee Phantom & The Illharmonic Orchestra in action! This brand-new concert will be available for you to stream online as many times as you wish from March 6 through April 4.
Combining the raw energy and passion of hip-hop, with the beautiful sounds of orchestra accompaniment, The Illharmonic is just the third hip-hop group to headline at the famed Carnegie Hall and have performed at The Kennedy Center as well as performing arts centers all over the country.
