The Beach Corridor is one of the six rapid transit corridors of the Strategic Miami Area Rapid Transit (SMART) Plan. The Beach Corridor runs from the Design District/Midtown Miami and Downtown Miami to the Miami Beach Convention Center area.

In October, 2020, Miami-Dade County approved an interim agreement (IA) with MBM Partners, LLC to conduct pre-development work and establish the terms and conditions for the development and negotiation of the Project Agreement to accomplish the design, build, financing, operation and maintenance of a rapid transit system along the Beach Corridor Trunk Line. The project includes the construction and operation of a monorail transit solution between downtown Miami and Miami Beach.
